Oregon Wine Competition® Announces Prominent Panel of Judges for 2018

MEDFORD, Ore.–The Oregon Wine Experience® is thrilled to announce the panel of six world renowned judges secured for the 2018 Oregon Wine Competition® to be held August 4-5. The panel boasts four Masters of Wine, two of which are board members for the IMW. In addition to prestigious wine certifications from around the world, each of the judges is a respected educator in the world of wine, and their contributions range from authorship and consultation to patent and business ownership. The international expertise present at the judges table will position the Oregon Wine Experience® as one of the premiere wine events in the country.

The judges for the 2018 Oregon Wine Competition® include:

  • Joe Roberts, CSW- Level 3 Advanced WSET, Founder of 1WineDude.com, wine writer and speaker
  • Ashley Hausman Vaughters, MW- Owner of Mistral Wine Co. Education and Consultation, Teacher at Wine Education Institiute, Chair of Colorado Wine Industry Development Board
  • Liza Zimmerman– Holds Diploma of Wine and Spirits, Wine writer, educator, consultant
  • Joel Butler, MW- World renown judge and Examiner for Masters of Wine Exam, Author, Educator, Institute of Masters of Wine Board member
  • Nigel Sneyd, MW- Director of International Winemaking Group with E & J Gallo, MBA, Degree Oenology, Diplome National d’Oenologue
  • Patrick Farrell, MW, MD- First physician in the world to gain MW distinction, CEO of BevWizard, consultant, educator, wine writer, Institute of Masters of Wine Board member
